Wellington’s Community Park

Overview
Located at the end of Johns Street in the northwest corner of town, this park offers fun and relaxation for both young and old.

The park is furnished with a wealth of amenities, such as:

  • Lighted ball diamonds
  • Batting cages
  • Basketball and tennis courts
  • Horseshoe pits
  • Soccer fields
  • Sand volleyball court
  • Picnic pavilions
  • A two mile wooded boardwalk
  • A number of playground areas

The playgrounds are supplied with equipment for the very small, as well as older children.

Wellington has been a Tree City for over 20 years and it shows at the Wellington Community Park. There are a number of tree-shaded grass areas and a memorial tree area where you can find a wide variety of species.

The three large picnic pavilions may be reserved on the weekends with a $25 donation. These popular pavilions play host to a number of family reunions and other parties during the year and are nestled among a wooded hillside adjacent to playground and grassy areas.
