Lorain County residents who would like to receive assistance with home energy bills can now make application for those services at the Wellington Town Hall. Thanks to the efforts of Mayor O'Keefe, the village and Lorain County Community Action Agency (LCCAA) have formed a partnership to have a satellite application location for the HEAP program. HEAP provides emergency assistance with energy bills, a percentage of income payment program and weatherization.
The application satellite office is located in the north meeting room, Council Chambers, second floor, of the Wellington Town Hall. The office is open Monday thru Friday from 7:30 to 4:30. During the morning hours, from 7:30 to 11:30, persons are seen on a first come first served basis. In the afternoon, from 12:30 to 4:30, individuals are seen on an appointment basis. Appointments can be arranged by calling 440-647-6410, or the LCCAA main office at 440-245-1870 ext. 3122.
The additional information link leads to the State of Ohio information pages for the HEAP program and is a good reference point for information about the program, including eligibility. [Additional info...]
