Recycling in the Village of Wellington

Republic Services recently conducted waste auditing in the village to advise the community as to where we are as far as contamination.  The Village of Wellington currently has 54% contamination with the first sample.  54% contamination is a D rating on Republic scale.  We would like to keep that down 20% or under.  Republic likes to get 5 samples per community to get a good standard.  With the Coronavirus having folks stay home, Republic Services is seeing an increase in residential recycling across the board and with that comes contamination.  We realize a lot of folks are working from home but we would like to remind you to recycle the right way as to avoid contamination.  Please review Recycling Simplified and Wellington 2020 for more detailed information on proper techniques for recycling.

Thanking you in advance for your participation!
