One of the many wonderful aspects of our downtown district is the presence of trees along the sidewalks. They provide shade, natural beauty and allow for the hanging of lights at Christmas. Unfortunately, the trees, after nearly three decades, have outgrown their area and are causing issues with the sidewalks.
The village is currently in the process of addressing the issue in three steps.
1) Remove the current trees.
2) Level the sidewalks.
3) Replant with replacement trees species that are appropriate for the planter locations.
First, will be the removal of the current trees after which the second step will proceed with the leveling of the sidewalks.
While there will be a noticeable different during this process, we want to assure everyone that trees will be replanted after the repairing of the concrete, and will represent a significant improvement over the existing arrangement.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we begin this project, and we look forward to the improved beautification process of the downtown district.
