“This is a follow up to the 0100 hour update this morning:
1. Recovery Process
Electric and Public Works crews worked all night restoring power and removing debris around town.
They have made significant progress and done an incredible job. We cannot thank them enough. The police have also done a wonderful job keeping everyone safe and managing a dynamic crises as best they can.
2. Mutual Aid
Overnight, we estimated the extent of damage would take up to 3 days to restore all service in town. However, due to the incredible speed of our crews, and mutual aid coming in from other communities, we hope to now have all service restored by this evening.
We are grateful to our sister communities of Oberlin, Clyde, Cuyahoga Falls and Wadsworth for sending crews and equipment to help our employees.
As many of you know, these communities are part of a public power group that helps each other, called AMP. It’s times like these that remind us how important mutual aid is, we cannot thank our fellow cities enough for their help in this difficult time.
3. Debris Management & Dumpster Service
To help aid our utility and public service crews, please keep travel to a minimum.
The first dumpster behind townhall was filled within a couple of hours. A second one has just been delivered and we are lining up a third one to come in later today.
As a reminder, put all construction debris in the dumpster, and all tree downfall at the curb.
And as always, if there is a question of safety, please report it and do not try to move the debris yourself if it is unsafe to do so.
The Village will continue to update as information becomes available.”
