Wellington's Town Hall is currently getting some renovations that necessitate limited parking and entrance closures, and creating some mess.
The renovations of the Town Hall include a needed painting of the architectural features at the top of the building. Many of these features are constructed of metal and periodic sealing and painting is needed to preserve these unique features. A new elastomeric paint by Sherman Williams is being used, as it will resist the expansion and contraction of the metal and subsequent loss of paint and rusting that had begun on the clock tower. Bill Moran Painting, a local contractor, is completing this job.
The old storm windows that were made of acrylic plastic and were deteriorating from exposure to the sun and the elements are also being removed and replaced. The new storm windows will be vented glass; they will blend better with the architecture of the windows and show both the fine woodworking and stained glass panels of the original construction. The new glass storm windows will also help us preserve the historic Wellington Town Hall while conserving energy. R.W. Clark of Cleveland, Ohio is the firm completing this project.
We ask for your tolerance during these two projects, as they will result in limited parking and entrance closures to allow the lifts access to the building, to assure no paint or construction debris damages vehicles and to maintain safety for pedestrians and visitors.
