Blue carts will be delivered over the next few weeks to residents as part of the automated refuse collection change. This change was necessary to preserve solid waste grant funding and to keep rates as low as possible for residents. The blue bag recycling program will remain, with additional items eligible for disposal through that program.
96 gallon containers will be delivered to most residents, unless you have called the Utility Billing Department at 647-4626 to request a smaller container. Allied Waste will also replace the large container with a smaller container if a resident calls them after delivery.
Large items may still be disposed of at the curb one week per month. Trash pick up days will also be rescheduled as part of using the automated refuse collection trucks. Residents will receive a flyer with their container detailing all of the changes. A copy of the flyer can also be found at the link listed below.
An official start day for the automated refuse collection program will be announced soon.
