Great and Beautiful Destination
With Cleveland and Ohio’s north coast, Lake Erie, a little more than 30 minutes away, Wellington is a great destination for a day trip or as part of a multi-day visit to the region.
Great Place No Matter What You Seek
If the fun of festivals is what interest you, check out the Lorain County Fair, the Cheese Heritage Festival, our two day old fashioned Fourth of July celebration and our gazebo concerts on Sunday evenings. Looking for plants, handmade garden items and garden ideas, visit our Gazebo Garden Tour. Our fall Harvest of the Arts is another great day for finding homemade crafts and arts.
If the great outdoors is what you seek, Wellington offers a wide range of recreation opportunities at our Community Park, Lorain Metropark’s Wellington Reservation, and Findley State Park. From camping to a quiet walk on a tree covered boardwalk, just about every form of outdoor recreation is offered by one of these fine facilities.
If you want your vacation to include some history, Wellington is worth a visit. With dozens of homes and structures listed in the historic registry, property owners have preserved and cared for our history. An amazing collection of architecture is represented in the century homes of our Village and a short walking tour will take you back to the 1800’s. Also visit our Spirit of '76 Museum to round out your trip back in time to learn more about the history of the area and the painter Archibald Willard.
