Building Permit
The purpose of a State of Ohio Building Permit is to ensure that minimum standards for design and construction in the Ohio Building Code are complied with and to promote the safety and welfare of building occupants. State of Ohio Residential Building Permits are required for any new construction, alteration, modification and/or any addition to any building/land involving building interior/exterior improvements, electrical improvements, plumbing improvements and/or HVAC improvements. State of Ohio Non-Residential Building Permits are required for any new construction, alteration, modification and/or any addition to any building/land involving building interior/exterior improvements, electrical improvements, plumbing improvements, HVAC improvements and/or Fire Protection improvements. State of Ohio Building Permits are issued by the Village’s Building Official, Thomas Horseman.
For anyone requiring a Building Permit; here’s how the process works:
• Applicant completes a building permit form and submits it along with required drawings prepared in triplicate to the Zoning Administrator’s office.
• Building Official will review application and contact applicant with any questions, clarifications or requests for additional information.
• Once all pertinent information is received, Building Official will complete final review of application and render decision on permit approval (typically 7 to 10 working days). Permit may be picked up at Zoning Administrator’s office.
